Call for Papers and Proposals

The Jacobs Levy Center invites working papers and research grant proposals related to quantitative finance. To be included in the next review cycle, please submit using the link below by January 20, 2023.

WORKING PAPERS

Paper submissions that are accepted will be added to the Jacobs Levy Equity Management Center for Quantitative Financial Research Paper Series on SSRN.

They will also be eligible for the Jacobs Levy Center Research Paper Prizes. The prizes include a $10,000 award for best paper and one or more awards of $5,000 for outstanding paper. View past winners here.

RESEARCH GRANT PROPOSALS

All University of Pennsylvania faculty and PhD students may submit research grant proposals, though preference is given to junior faculty. Awards are generally $10,000 or less, though other amounts are considered.

The funding may be used for research assistants, data purchases, and other expenses. Generally, we do not offer funding for travel or summer stipends.

To apply, please be prepared to provide:

  • Project description
  • Details on proposed expenses and overall estimated budget
  • Disclosure of other funding or proposals for the same project
  • For PhD applicants, a brief faculty support letter for the project

Please note:

If funds are awarded for research assistants, please consult with the Center before they begin work.

For data purchases, the Center will serve as the main point of contact in any contract negotiations with vendors to ensure compliance with University policies. If negotiations are already in progress, please note this in your proposal and provide any proposed agreements.
